Dan Da Dan Episode 4 Recap

Dan Da Dan episode 4 showcases how Momo Ayase and Ken Takakura nicknamed Okarun fight against this Turbo Granny and Some Location-bound spirit. Episode 3 showed how they made the plan to contain Turbo Granny.

Momo and Okarun in tunnel

Momo and Okarun are in front of the tunnel to discuss the upcoming fight. They both keep bickering about who should go inside the tunnel first, but in the end, both of them decide to go inside together. after entering both Momo and Okarun switch their torch on and find out that a giant head of Turbo Granny blocking the tunnel. Okarun gets scared and decides to run away. Momo is adamant about sending Turbo Granny out of Shono City. The tunnel is blocked from everywhere.

And The Fight Starts

Momo throws four baseball bats at Turbo Granny. But Turbo Granny is stronger. She eats the baseball bats away through her eyes. turns out her eyes are her mouth. Okarun suggests Momo release the physical portion of the curse thinking he can take control. When Okarun starts walking towards Turbo Granny, it turns out that the curse is no longer active. Turbo Granny tells them that she has returned his weenie to him and now there is no curse because she does not like him using her power as his own. Turbo Granny moves forward intending to gobble them up.

Suddenly, Momo realizes that Turbo Granny will take up the challenge if she taunts her about her running capability. Eventually, Turbo Granny does take the bait. Two giant heads end up becoming a petite human body. The old woman tells them that she is offended by her taunts. She asks about the rules of the game. Momo tells her that there is no rule. they are just playing tag. if they can be caught, then it’s a done deal for both of them. Ayase and Okarun start running stating that they have ten minutes. although Turbo Granny says that she hates cheaters but ends up cheating eventually. she starts running within 10 seconds.

Turbo Granny first grabs Ayase and engulfs her with large hands. Okarun tries to find her within that engulfed thing. Okarun accuses her of cheating to which Turbo Granny says that Momo never specified how she should count and she goes on with her way of counting. She now goes ahead to encase Okarun when Okarun remembers what Momo says about him. In self-defense, Okarun bites her chest off. Turbo Granny tries to thrash but to no avail. suddenly Turbo Granny feels weakness in her body. She understood that this was because of Okarun’s spiritual clothing. She concludes that the only way to kill okarun is by taking over his body. She does it very easily. but here is one more challenge – his spiritual clothing. She will have to rip off his spiritual clothing first. she asks okarun whether he is connected to any sorcerer.

In the end, she manages to rip off the clothing. now she moves to kill Ayase but suddenly she feels unbearable crushing pain. within that engulfed thing, Ayase is trying to control the turbo granny. it is shown that with her grandmother’s guidance, she can use her power without her sight. She just needs to use another sense element which is touch. ayase crushes Turbo Granny within Oakrun’s body itself and with pain, Turbo Granny runs towards her. Now Ayase can control Turbo Granny with one hand and Okarun with the other hand. Eventually, Turbo Granny turns into a snake which is stuck to Okarun’s body.

Entry of Location Bound Spirit

Momo is happy about her success and starts bragging a bit when there is some other spirit that chases them. turns out it is a location-bound spirit with Turbo Grannya asking the location-bound spirit to kill them off. the walls start breaking. it’s a giant shape of a crab. the duo starts running while the location-bound spirit (Crab?) runs forward. Okarun asks Momo about the reason for Location Bound Spirit to be a crab to which Momo replies that the dead turn them into freshwater crabs to cross the river Styx.

the crab starts breaking things up. Momo urges Okarun to transform but he is not able to. but finally able to transform when the attack was about to occur. the duo starts running ahead to escape the territory of the Location-bound spirit – Shono City with turbo granny in snake form in Ayase’s hands. Okarun tells her that she is a bit heavy therefore he is not able to take turns. they end up freefalling but Okarun can float himself up for a second. they start freefalling again. To avoid the effect, okarun tries to hold onto a building but both of them eventually end up falling onto the pavement in front of a light post. Okarun has already done one full throttle and he has only one left after this.

Meanwhile, the crab enters again while being covered with human feces. The duo starts running again. People are watching them. Momo feels embarrassed about it. Because the human can only see that guy is running while giving a girl a piggyback ride.

Finally, Okarun is getting tired of all these. he does not have any power left. She decides to go inside a bathhouse hoping that the crab will not be able to break this building so easily. but eventually the giant crab destroys the building. The human beings think that this is due to some explosion. Finally Momo and okarun get cornered by this giant crab. Okarun is panicking when Momo decides to break a water pipe. This results in hot water release. This gives them a chance to escape since hot water tenses up the muscles of Crab.

Zombies Enter

Meanwhile , Turbo Granny causes another pain. Since she is still within shono city , this old hag decides to call upon a large mob of people from a nearby cementry. now the issue is , there is a huge mob of spirits following them up and they need to cross them to reach the end of shono city. the duo realise that they need to use Oakrun’s power once more but the challenge is they may not be able to cross shono city. But if they dont use , they may end up dying there. okarun transforms and start running. they ride through the giant crab and gets attached to a tower whne suddenly Okarun goes back to his human form. both of them end up falling. in a split second okarun transforms again and ends up landing. Both of them are tired but Momo ends up finding that she has let go turbo granny in this.

So Now Turbo Granny , A bunch of Zombie , a giant crab are after them . both crab and turbo granny together form a combined form of a giant whcih start following them up. Trubo Granny start teasing them saying that how they will escape now. to which momo says that she will do it in a second. She Grabs the train with her power of holding anything. now they are able to beat the turbo granny ebcause the train speed is 120km per hour. now that giant hybrid ( Crab + Old Granny ) start follwoing them up but she is a bit slow. but the major challenge is train will be a little slower. this does not bother her because she is already on board and she took on the bait as her grnadma suggested.

A Giant Fused Turbo Granny + Giant Crab

The Giant Fused Hybrid on the train, ayesa’s grandmother waits on the end line of Shono City and Kiamigoe City. She has grounded the nails on both sides of the track. Ayase holds back the turbo granny while she tries to run away. The moment the train crosses Shono City, both location-bound spirit and turbo granny end up in a blue flame.

Momo brings Okarun to the platform when she watches the ghost end up in a flame. Finally, the struggle ends. Next Day, The grandmother brings Okarun and Momo to visit the tunnel to pay tribute to those young girls who were brutally murdered in the tunnel. Her grandmother tells her that the mediums have been trying to find the turbo granny for a long time. They realized that Turbo Granny consoled those spirits but that does not justify her act towards living. Grandmother tells them that the living should never mock the dead and both sides should respect each other.

Conclusion

At Night, Okarun visits Momos’ place. they are having crab dinner. Both Grandmother and Granddaughter are fighting over the piece of crab. Okarun offers his portion finding the crab hard to eat after his recent experience. after dinner, both bid goodbye to each other. they both are feeling a little bit off about it though. Okarun is happy to hear that Momo Promises to remain his friend.
